To me, pottery is relaxation, creation, and expression. Through form and color, I express freedom, fun, and thoughts. My works reflect the two sides of my personality - playful yet disciplined, boundless yet moderate.
My one-of-a-kind works are contemporary and mainly decorative. Through each art piece, I aim to connect, inspire, and bring pleasure.
In my new series of work 'The Water-Colors', I explore and attempt to 'paint' on the piece with glazes. I am fascinated at the variations of colors and their movements where glazes interacts with one another. The water-color feel gives the piece depths, more energy and vitality. More pieces have just been uploaded...
The series of work on Nature was the combination of my thrown-coiled and multi-color. The expressions are of life and growth through individual element of nature integrating with and providing for one another.
I am always inspired by diversity - its combined power and stories of courageous individuals. Through my earlier two series of work - Multi-Color on Black and Thrown-Coiled, I share my thoughts, feelings and inspirations : dream, integrate, inclusion, believe, emerged, song in you, taking in .... 'Diversity' was also the theme of my contemporary ceramic arts exhibition held in February 2012.
Pottery has been my energizer and rejuvenator since I started potting as leisure 17 years ago. Currently, I am a member of FUSION: The Ontario Clay and Glass Association, Toronto Potters Guild, and Cedar Ridge Studio Gallery.
